Warner Music Group Future Talent reseach


Challenge:
Warner Music Group struggle to recruit the most exciting young talent into their business and they wanted to know why and what they could do about it.
Solution:
We ran an in depth research project into future talent across the UK and US, as well as researching Warner itself to see where their challenges lay, what future talent wanted and how Warner could attract them.
Output:
The output of this project was an in depth future talent report and suggested internal process changes as well as programmes they could run in youth culture to change major label perceptions. We are now working with WMG to implement these changes, and change their perception in youth culture.



My Role: Lead Strategist

> Interviewed 100 young people in the UK and US
> Stakeholder interviews from global SVPs down to interns and those in between
> Designed and analised quant survey across the UK and US
> Ran a co-created experience workshop, defining key challenges on the Warner talent journey. Working with the whole of the UK director team including global CEO matched with 20 young people from Livity network to develop solutions to challenges in this talent journey.
> Created a full report with findings
> Developed strategic recommendations for internal process changes to retain future talent.
> Developed strategic recommendations for external programmes that would change Warner’s perception in youth culture, acquiring a higher calabre of talent.
> Now working with Warner on next steps in terms of implementing process changes and external programmes.
